Function / Content

This series consists of one register recording mining tenements for water rights issued for District E, Tennant Creek/Warramunga Field. The register records the total number of shares, the date of application and registration, the class of holding, the area applied for, the area surveyed and the date of the survey, registration fee and rent, survey fee, locality and description of boundaries, date certificate issued, registered shareholder details, details of transfers, details of encumbrances, exemptions and rent. In this register the mining tenements for water rights include those for watershed and storm water rights, subterranean water rights, pipe track water rights, and dam tank or reservoir water rights.

Recordkeeping System

One only register with WR [water rights] prefix and E [Tennant Creek/Warramunga goldfield] suffix. The prefix has an added letter dependent on the type of water right - an example being dam water right has the letters DWR added to the suffix E.
